2. Data We Collect

• Dive Plans — Stored in a server-side database when you use the dive planner. No personal identifiers are attached to dive plans.
• Checklists — Custom checklists are stored in the database. Default checklists can also be saved locally for offline use.
• Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand usage patterns. GA4 is loaded only after you accept cookies via our consent banner. We implement Google Consent Mode v2.
• Affiliate Links — Blog posts contain Amazon affiliate links (tag: scuplan-20). Clicking these links is tracked as an affiliate_click event in GA4. Amazon may set their own cookies on their domain.

3. Google Consent Mode v2

ScuPlan implements full Google Consent Mode v2. By default, all consent categories are set to denied:

• ad_storage — denied by default
• ad_user_data — denied by default
• ad_personalization — denied by default
• analytics_storage — denied by default

When you accept cookies, these are updated to granted. When you decline, they remain denied and no tracking cookies are set.

4. Cookies

ScuPlan uses the following cookies/storage:

• cookie_consent (localStorage) — Stores your cookie consent preference
• Google Analytics — Only if you accept cookies. Used for anonymous usage analytics.
• Google AdSense — Only if you accept cookies. Used for displaying relevant advertisements.

5. Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics 4 (G-FZYPK08YL7) — Anonymous usage analytics
• Google AdSense — Advertising (consent-gated)
• Amazon Associates — Affiliate product links in blog posts
• Hugging Face Inference API — AI dive assistant (questions are sent to HF servers for processing)

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Decline cookies at any time using the consent banner (click "Privacy Choices" in the footer)
• Clear your browser storage to remove all locally saved data
• Request deletion of your dive plan data by contacting us
